Advanced Portal Authentication and Authorization using Tivoli Access Manager
Session ID: A10
Speaker Name: Jürgen Walter, Portal Architect, WP Experts
Session Abstract:
When deploying WebSphere Portal it is often necessary to leverage an existing security infrastructure, such as Tivoli Access Manager for e-business. This session discusses benefits and implications of using the different authentication mechanisms between Tivoli Access Manager WebSeal and WebSphere Portal 5.1.0.x deployed on WebSphere Application Server 6.0.2. We also look at externalizing authorization for Portal resources to Tivoli Access Manager, ACL configuration options and best practices, potential performance impacts, and recommendations to improve manageability and hence security. Finally, we cover advanced scenarios and examples, such as different session time-outs between multiple WebSeal instances, WebSeal and WebSphere, and programmatic Identity propagation using the Portal “ActiveCredential” to a Domino CMS. Enhancements to this topology supported in WebSphere Portal Version 6 will also be presented.
Integrating legacy applications into WebSphere Portal using Web Services for Remote Portlets (WSRP)
Session ID: D16
Speaker Name: Jürgen Walter, Portal Architect, WP Experts
Session Abstract:
In this session we will cover the integration of a brokerage application into an e-banking website via WSRP. Based on a real customer example, we will discuss the general WSRP concepts, Single Sign-On, failover and security considerations, as well as performance considerations. You will leave this session with a good understanding of WSRP and its powerful capabilities to integrate legacy applications that go far beyond the integration of 'just' remote Portlets.
