IBM Award 2005 for WP-Experts
WP Experts honored with prestigious IBM AWARD
Ambuj Goyal, General Manager of IBM Lotus, announced on December 16, that this year's IBM Award for best Portal Solution would go to WP Experts - the developers of the AO Foundation Medical Portal.
The IBM Award is the most prestigious award donated by IBM and is highly coveted in the IT world. It will be presented in January at the Lotusphere in Orlando, Florida.
The award is a real credit to the hard work the WP Experts team, has invested over the past year. The team worked under the management of Martin Heckmeier (AO Foundation) and Oliver Trabert (Portal Architect, WP Experts) and managed to create a complex portal solution in a timeframe of about only 50% of the industry standard.
The AO portal was launched in July 2004. It offers a range of new services to the AO community and the general public, among them:
- Restricted areas for AO Trustees, Alumni, and Faculty members
- A video database incorporating about 1000 videos for online viewing
- The AO image database
- Email services for the Alumni
- Various directory databases of AO groups
- The AO intranet for AO employees
- Discussion forums
- A host of information about osteosynthesis
- And much more...
